Thank God for another successful Mission Trip to Haiti.

On November 17, 2012, 11 members of Johnson Ferry Baptiste from Atlanta, 2 members of Colonial Heights Baptist church in Richmond Virginia along with 2 Torch of Hope Staff Members and 1 support personnel, traveled to Haiti for a mission trip co-organized by Johnson Ferry and Torch of Hope.  For the next 7 days, the team worked tirelessly to share hope and the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Fauge community through discipleship training sessions for the students of IEBCF, leadership training for the teachers of IEBCF, evangelistic outreach evening services for the local communities along with evangelism training for local church members. It was a week packed with many rewarding activities.  This was a return trip for most of the team members who also spent Thanksgiving in Haiti last year while sharing the gospel with the Fauge community and its surrounding.  In addition to sharing the Gospel with the students and the local community, some of the team members discovered new skills that they did not know they had by building an additional 6 benches that were much needed to relieve the congestion in the classrooms that are filled with more students than expected due to the overwhelming response of the Fauge community and its surrounding to the school.  Griffin (8 years old) and Brady (10 years old) did an excellent job sharing their testimonies with the locals during the evening services while Katherine (11 years old) showed her skills by playing a few songs on the keyboard. The staff of Torch of Hope wants to thank Jonson Ferry and Colonial Heights Baptist church for entrusting them with their members and sending them to Haiti to make such a significant difference in Fauge.  The team also took a few packs of isolation gowns and some boxes of hospital gloves that were donated by employees of Kimberly Clark (Roswell GA) to a local hospital.  The hospital administrator expressed great gratitude for the donation and states that they will help the staff to better serve her patients while protecting themselves. Being so pleased with the outcome of the mission trip, the team is already planing to return to Haiti for Thanksgiving 2013 to continue the work it started last year. A full mission trip report will be posted soon along with pictures, in the mean time, enjoy the few pictures of the trip that have been added to the slide show above.
